In 1997 I purchased my first camera (a Leica M6) and commenced study at the Photographic Studies College in Melbourne. In 1999 I was commissioned by the City of Port Philip to record and exhibit a series of images exploring the relationship between local residents and their pets known as “Pet Connections”. This was followed by a range of commercial work including fashion, magazine and advertising assignments.
In 2001, I moved to Tasmania with everything that I could fit into the back of my car to build a new life. I wanted to live in a place with clean air and pure water where I could see the stars at night.
I am uplifted by the opportunity to share and record people’s lives and experiences.
The little man in my logo is representative of the Tarot card known as “The Fool”, who jumps off the cliff into the great unknown with his loyal companion, only to realise that he has wings and can fly.
It is about having the courage to dare to dream.
