Dancing is BACK!

2022 is set to be the year for the biggest wedding parties ever! Couples have been waiting for (what feels like) forever to celebrate their marriage, and so when that date hits… well, the celebrations will be epic!

We’ve asked some of our favourite Tasmanian musos and DJ’s to add to our favourite song playlist! From Elvis to Taylor Swift, AC/DC to Ed Sheeran we’ve got songs for you to walk down the aisle, daddy-daughter dance, classic pub tunes to get the boys belting out a song (with air guitars of course), and songs to fill a dance floor in seconds!

Best of all we’ve collated them in a Spotlight playlist! Add your favourites in the comments and let's put together an amazing playlist.

Detour are a four piece, Hobart-based cover band, who love nothing more than performing high quality music to energetic Tassie audiences.

Boasting a huge repertoire of tunes ranging from 60's to today, Detour have the songs and the experience to satisfy audiences who are looking for the complete package; a professional band that know how to put on a show!

1. Crazy Little Thing called Love Queen

We love opening the first set after the first dance with this, it’s a golden oldie so great for every wedding. Grandparents, parents and younger guests alike can’t get enough of this tune.

2. I wanna dance with somebody Whitney Houston

This is an absolute dance floor filler, everyone loves Whitney and it really gets the party started

3. Man I feel like a woman Shania Twain

We often start our second set with this, the opening bars are enough to fill a dance floor in an instant after a set break.

4. Run to Paradise Choir Boys

A classic pub rock tune that gets the boys hiding up the back nursing their beers up on the dance floor.

5. Wannabe Spice Girls

not your average cover band tune, but we love busting this one out for the 90’s kids - every Bride Tribe gets around this!

6. Don’t Stop Believing Journey

An 80’s classic that brings the parents back up after they’ve been resting their feet.

7. Mr Brightside The Killers

Another classic that nobody can resist busting a move to, it brings out everyone’s inner mid-2000’s rocker.

8. Living on a prayer Bon Jovi

Are you even a cover band if you don’t cover this? You can not go wrong with Bon Jovi, even the hippest of crowds can’t resist this banger.

9. You’re the voice John Farnham

An Aussie classic, great for the end of the night where everyone is keen to hug each other and scream every word as loud as they can.

10. Horses Daryl Braithwaite

I know, I know. Cliche. But this is a really solid finale for the bride and groom, it’s slow enough to be sentimental and 99% of the time the dance floor will automatically form a dance circle around the bride and groom so they can have one last dance.

Oberon Lane are the wedding music specialists ready to create the perfect soundtrack to compliment your day. They specialise in Acoustic + DJ packages and have their favourite songs from each style!

For ceremonies our favourites are:

1. Can't Help Falling In Love With You Elvis

This song has become the number one down the aisle song over the last two years, but for all the right reasons - It's such a magical song, has a stunning message, beautiful lyrics and the perfect energy for an aisle and we love singing our brides down to this one.

2. This Old Love Lior

A really unique choice that has been popping up a few times over the last year - It was a massive hit in the mid 2000's by Australian folk singer Lio
