Kate & Fehi
A happy couple, a stunning location and a night of dancing and smiles all round- there is so much to love about this micro-wedding in the state's north.
Kate & Fehi originally were meant to get married in Wanaka, New Zealand in January. However, with Covid raining on their parade they had to cancel and rethink their plans. After many Google searches, they came across Eagles Nest Retreat that reminded them of the NZ mountains, and they fell in love with the scenery and locked it in.
Their favourite part of the day was the feeling of celebration. The dance floor was great fun; "Horses" by Daryl Braithwaite was belted out by everyone many times. But the highlight was definitely Fehi doing the WAP (Cardi B) dance for everyone!
We just love the simple, personal touches that these two organised. Kate & Fehi had a mix of traditional and non-traditional elements- Fehi chose to walk down the aisle with both of her parents, they didn't have a seating plan, and they did a "Sakopo Family Dance" instead of the traditional Father-Daughter item. On the other hand, Kate was walked down the aisle by her father, and they did their own Father-Daughter dance. They chose the things that were important to them and their families, and turned them into their own way. We love it!
They recommended having a wedding planner and package to make a destination wedding as simple and fun as it can be, and with minimal stress. And what more could you ask for, with this view as your stunning backdrop!
