Photography: Lucas & Co. Photography
We’ve been itching to share this super sweet engagement shoot!! We love everything about this couple and their photos — their loving looks and giggles are guaranteed to put a smile on your dial. Jason + Sarah of Lucas & Co. Photography did an absolutely beautiful job capturing the heart of Sarah + Richard’s engagement. We can’t wait to see those wedding photos in December!
Read on to hear about Sarah + Richard, complete with Hobbits, a family holiday and an ulterior motive…
“Richard and I met five and a half years ago at Wrest Point casino. Richard is a chef and I was working as a waitress while studying at Uni. He was very shy to begin with, but I don’t give up easily and once we started dating we realised how much we had in common!
We got engaged in March during a family holiday to New Zealand. I planned the trip as a surprise for Richard, but I confess that I had an ulterior motive! I dropped some pretty big hints once he found out about the holiday and the fact that we would be in New Zealand for my 25th birthday and our five year anniversary. The pressure was on!
True to form, Richard proposed while we were having a very nerdy moment on a film location tour visiting Hobbiton where Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were filmed. But don’t worry — he didn’t propose with the ‘one ring’! We chose a lovely ring from Michael Hill instead.
For our engagement shoot we chose Battery Point as a location and our photographers found some stunning spots around Princes Park. It was great to meet them for the first time, they made us feel so comfortable and we had a lot of fun!
Richard and I will be married on the 21st December this year at Steele’s Island Retreat in Carlton.”
